This year will see the first season of our new enlarged garden. We already
have a developing orchard, to this we have established a
new garden which is intended to replace our polytunnels.
The garden has been laid out with
quarried stone for the paths and will be undertaken with one side given over to
traditional raised beds whilst the other will be run on a permaculture
basis.
It is hoped that after a season under our belts we will start to establish more
soft fruits in the lower part of the garden to replace our aging raspberry acre
which is slowly being replaced by native forest.
We have now installed and make use of one compost toilet with others to be added
in the future following the success of this initial loo.
We also make several jams and chutneys on the croft from our existing abundant
supplies of apples, rasps, woosterberries and blackcurrants.
