Anam
Cara offers three opportunities for volunteers
and helping hands to attend Anam Cara and help
us in our small Tree Nursery assisting with the propagation and trans-planting
of native tree seedlings such as Birch, Rowan, Alder and Hazel which make
a small but well tended contribution to the reforesting of Scotland’s
native woodland.
In recognition that a number of folks have requested a more
meditative experience while working with the trees, we now
run a full working retreat in the form of Time
For Times with the second retreat following immediately on from it, called
Quiet for Trees, being split between
meditation and tree-pricking which is proving increasingly popular -
particularly amongst people who are new to meditation.
The final week of the year is in
September and called Autumn Workings.
This week involves packing up our first year seedlings and other various jobs
on the croft as we prepare for winter.
All working retreats offer
full board and accommodation with participants taking it turns to prepare
meals for the group.
