On the Edge
Bushcraft Wilderness Survival Skills
with Willow Loehr
18-20 July

This extended weekend course is an introduction to both Bushcraft and
outdoor Survival Techniques. We shall be working with elemental skills
many of which have been forgotten through the onslaught of technology and
industrialisation. The course will re-introduce some of the skills and
crafts of our ancestors helping us to reconnect with a simpler way of
life. Re-learning these skills will not only improve your self-confidence,
but also connect you closer with nature and her infinite resources.
Skills and crafts covered:
different methods of making fire
wild foods/medicine
natural cordage
knife carving and sharpening technique
water purification
natural navigation
wilderness cooking.
No previous experience is necessary. The teachings are conducted
outdoors in all weathers. The course includes the use of a high quality
knife which is yours to keep.
Willow has lived in remote and wild places most of her life and her
interest in wilderness survival has been complemented with the acquisition
of traditional and ancient skills. She has been working for Ray Mears for
the past four years and as an instructor on his bushcraft courses since
last year.
