‘Alternative’ Christmas Retreat

Anam Cara warmly invites you to join us for a nourishing and restorative

6-day retreat over the festive season. This winter gathering will appeal to those who are called to share a quiet and introspective ‘Alternative' Christmas.  Together, we will embrace simple restoration through the practice of present moment awareness, mindfulness/daily meditation, nature walks, and a merry mix of 'creative flow'.

 

Through the magic of communal cooking, we will nurture each other with wholesome vegetarian food, cooked and shared together.  There will also be an outdoor closing circle on the last evening, with fire, music and song to warm the soul.

Our time spent together will also include the following mix of creative offerings:  Creation of a cypress spiral, outdoor nature mandalas and work with ceramics and nature crafts to bring us back into presence.  There will also be the opportunity for some dynamic movement with a deep relaxation session and a giveaway & receiving ceremony on Christmas Day with a film and sauna towards the end of the retreat.

Winter is a potent time of deep reflection and introspection.  During this time, we can more easily assimilate our previous years’ experience, and create an incubation chamber for the coming year; allowing space for our own personal seeds, plans and ideas to germinate. Space for solitary reflection will also be available to those who feel the call to be silent and  turn inward.   Please note that the above creative offerings are all optional, as you are welcome to just rest, chill and simply Be. 

 

Please bring a journal, and if you feel called, a favourite recipe or home baked treat to share.
 

We also invite you to bring an item/object that is dear to you – which will be exchanged for another gift in the ‘Giveaway/Receiving Ceremony’ on Christmas Day.

 

Please feel free to bring an instrument, song, poem, or story to
share around an evening fire.
